is a homegrown collective & archive homebased in NYC’s Manhattan Chinatown.
Tuning in since 2018, we are a collective effort kicked off by DJ historian yiuyiu 瑶瑶 & her family to follow the music, memory, & history that comes with over 35 record/CD/tape collections inherited from the neighborhood & beyond.
With each beloved song & memory, Chinatown Records 華埠錄音 evolves as an ever-growing record of the people we love, who bring all this music to life with us.
What a joy & honor it is to be trusted as the guardian & DJ historian for this beloved community archive of music & memories.
As a community-taught & -powered DJ historian, I have the most fun bringing the music out of the archive onto the streets & into the living rooms we share. & going back-to-back (b2b) with my family & friends, who have taught me so much.
Chosen to be a DJ by *you all*, I especially love training up our next generations of DJ historians of all ages to bring the music to life with us.
& I'll always be a dancer first.
